The fuels used for household generators are gasoline, diesel, propane and natural gas.

Advantages:

• They are affordable.
• They are portable, convenient and can be used for short periods.
• Maintenance is easy.
• Propane and natural gas are environmentally and economically sound fuels.

Disadvantages:

• Generators are usually very noisy.
• The cost of fuel is expensive.
